The Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin Prestwich

Serving God's people for over 800 years

Visiting

St Mary's Church is situated at the end of Church Lane, off Bury New Road, in Prestwich. Our postcode is M25 1AN.

St. Mary's is an open and inclusive community and a member of the Inclusive Church network. We have a growing congregation of all ages including children and young adults. We are delighted to welcome visitors and those attending for the first time.

Our regular Sunday worship comprises an 8am Said Eucharist and a 10:30am Sung Parish Eucharist. See our list of services for more details.

Our church building is Grade One listed and is a fine medieval parish church with some sympathetic Georgian and Victorian additions. The church is fully accessible with a disabled toilet inside the church building. We have one of the largest graveyards in the country.

Refreshments are often served after the 10:30am Sunday Eucharist and if you are visiting you are very welcome to join us. Please introduce yourself.

St Mary's Church does not have a car park and there is very limited parking on Church Lane. On Sunday mornings (only), members of the congregation may use the car park at the Conservative Club on Church Lane. On street parking can be found on Church Drive which is a couple of minutes walk from St Mary's. Alternatively there is a large public car park at the Longfield Centre, opposite Prestwich tram stop and another smaller car park off Clifton Road behind the NatWest bank on Bury New Road. Both of these car parks are approximately a five minute walk from St Mary's Church.
